CREATIVE WRITING
If words are your creative calling then start writing.
Introduced in the 2005 competition, this category gives you the opportunity to write
a short creative story or poem about the issues associated with the usage of alcohol and other drugs. You can write in any style as long as you meet the following conditions:
- Be entirely original & written by NSW residents aged between 16-25.
- Be made specifically for Play Now Act Now 2008.
- The Writer has obtained all the necessary permissions and rights including
copyright of all people involved.
- Be based on the theme of young people, alcohol & other drugs.
- Be a fiction, non-fiction or poem. (Note non-fiction includes autobiography,
biography, academic essay, journalistic articles or documentary.)
- Be no longer then 1000 words.
- Stories must be typed on A4 paper, double space, at least 12 pt font and each
page should include the story title and page number.
- Do not include your name anywhere on the hardcopy your story.
- Two copies of your piece must be received by the due date – one hard / paper
copy and one soft copy burnt onto a CD. Please save as a word document (.doc)
and make sure it is Mac compatible.
- Be primarily in English.
- Any stories that are deemed offensive or racist will be disqualified.
